Phil and Anto are joined by highly regarded Ajax and Dutch National Team right back Gregory van der Wiel upon his arrival in the United States for two friendlies at DC United and Portland Timbers after having just won the 30th Eredivisie title for his legendary Dutch club side. Greg explains the coaching change impact at the club and making a remarkable come back for the Dutch giants to seal that title and how several personnel changes and the re-emergence of Cruijff has returned the mentality back to its lofty standard. Still only 23, Gregory van der Wiel made his professional debut at legendary football club Ajax nearly four years ago and in that time he has made more than 100 appearances, played 35 times in European competition and has even made his first World Cup Final appearance for a Dutch team that has been nothing short of a winning machine since his inclusion. It should come no surprise that Greg is regarded as among the most desired young players in the world today, and he has been awarded the Johan Cruijff Award for Young Player of the Year in the Netherlands in 2010 and the Ajax Talent of the Year in 2009 and now a domestic title as Ajax clinched its 30th league title just a week ago. Greg even gives a look into where he may want to ply his trade in the future - a wonderful chat with an emerging world talent on the lips of every Sporting Director in Europe - perhaps one of the finest young talents in the game today.
