The Coaching Manual Episode 2

Paul Bright, the Technical Director for The Coaching Manual, joins us to discuss youth soccer in America. Paul is a UEFA A License holder who has worked as a coach in Grassroots and Professional football for 15 years.

His career in Football started as an academy player at his hometown club, Oldham Athletic FC where he gained a reputation as a tough tackling centre-half. Unfortunately, his ambitions to become a professional footballer didn’t materialize but, through his love for the game, he decided to pursue a coaching career instead.

His coaching career started at Bobby Charlton’s famous soccer schools and has taken in Everton FC’s academy, the Football Association, Manchester United FC (where he spent 8 years under the tutelage of René Meulensteen), FC United of Manchester (as Academy Manager) and most recently as U15 Manager back at his home club Oldham Athletic. Paul has also spent several summers coaching in California.
